payment terms
for custom jewelry manufacturing


Terms of payment are different depending on the cases:
- Creation / prototypes
- Production of protected products (that cannot be sold to 3rd party)
- Production of a product that is not protected (our own designs, for our catalog, or proposed by us)

Also we differentiate the Creatin as necessary step to production, from Creation as a service to deliver optimized tooling and transfer our "know how" to be re-used by other manufacturers to produce easily a well rounded product:
- Creation Entry Fee
- Creation Exit Fee:

Some companies do not charge for the Creation but on the other hand they impose Minimum Order Quantities from start, also some of them do not deliver all the toolings ad files, they might just deliver the rubber molds which have a limited life time.
As contract manufacturer, we prefer to charge and deliver them, and since we initially charge them at a cheap rate to help advancing the project to production, we must charge the remaining at the end of the cooperatin (in case there is no production with us or whenever the customer needs to produce some of the products with another manufcaturer, etc).

CREATION COSTS: ENTRY FEE / EXIT FEE


The CREATION ENTRY FEE is the cost of preparing the tooling for making the production possible.
We want to reduce the initial cost to allow customers to reach production stage faster for an entire collection and focus their investment o marketig the products so we can get oerders.
We charge the remaining only when/if the customer needs to retrieve the files and the tooling.

The CREATION EXIT FEE is the cost for files and tooling delivery as a service.
(Amount equal to the Entry Fee unless otherwise specified at the quotation stage or approved by the customer during creation)
The Exit Fee is covering us for the tools, the transfer of our "know how" and the potential production that is shifting to our competitors.

* In case the customer cannot or will not pay the exit Fee, his designs, the 3D Editable files and the molds are still protected by our Ethical Duty of Confidentiality or our standard NDA Contract if we signed one. They are not yet in his possession because he did not fully paid the amount for their value, but we will not use them, share or distribute them, and we will keep them for 1 year allowing the customer to retrieve them at a later time.


PAYMENT TERMS FOR CREATION AND PROTOTYPES:


100% up front. Possibility to separate "Research and Design" from "Creation of molds and Prototypes"..
A sample being only a prototype, and since we allow customers to bring changes during the process which can result into additional costs for us, we have to collect this first payment in full (creation + samples).

  • Main reason:
    We are responsible for the quality of the work but not for the success of the jewelry design style. Sometimes a customer will drop a product because the idea is not as great as it seemed on paper and then naturally the customer is not always willing to pay the remaining amount for the work on a product that is already programmed to be dropped.

  • Exceptions:
    Costly unique pieces in gold, or multiple gold samples for which we will charge only the cost for metal and materials as a deposit to confirm the order, and cahrge the labor and profit after completion.


    PAYMENT TERMS FOR PRODUCTION:


    We accept only bank Transfers and letter of credit (L/C)

    Punctual, unplanned production (Protected product):
    - Deposit covering at least the materials (generally around 70%), for the production of products that are protected (property of customer) because it cannot by sold to a thrid party.
    - Remaining value for each partial deliveries is paid before each partial shipment, or when the goods are made available for inspection in our workshop by your QC Agent.

    Manufacuring agreement (Protected product):
    - Deposit 50%-70% of global agreement, discount calculated on the entire agreement amount.
    - Remaining value for each partial deliveries is paid before each partial shipment, or when the goods are made available for inspection in our workshop by your QC Agent.

    Production of our own products (Catalog):
    - Deposit 50% of global agreement, discount included, calculated on the entire agreement amount.
    - Remaining value for each partial deliveries is paid before each partial shipment, or when the goods are made available for inspection in our workshop by your QC Agent.

    Inspection of goods before delivery:
    In case the customer does not have the possibility to check the goods in our facility and cannot send an agent, then we make HQ pictures of the entire production, and also pictures of individual products or groups of production where the customer can see well enough to distinguish scratches and main defects.

    We can also propose to use C.O.D Service from Brinks or Malca Amit to have customers inspect the good in Custom Area at the destination country (before it clears customs) to allow tax free return of rejected goods. The transporter will then require payment confirmation from us before releasing the goods.

    Such conditions as well as deadlines, returns of good and late delivery penalties are detailed on each invoice and adjusted case by case.
    We are ready to consider any reasonable proposal for other terms as long as the supply of goods and the workflow are well taken into account.
